Torbreck vintners was created with the aim of building one of the finest wine estates in the world, paying homage to the Barossa valley, home to some of the oldest vines on the planet. A minimal intervention approach translates the essence of the vines, many of which were planted in the 1840s, into wines of unique concentration and flavour. No expense is spared here by owner Peter Kight, including using Dominique Laurent ‘Magic Casks’ for top bottling ‘The Laird’ and substantial direct investment to support the growers of the ancient vineyards to which Torbreck has been tied since its foundation. The pinnacle of Shiraz wines from a single ancient vineyard of pre-phylloxera vines, in a double magnum.
